As is the case every year, the Ford F-150 benefits from a wide range of small improvements along with one major new addition. For 2025 and 2026, that spotlight shines on the all-new Lobo version, which gives the American pickup a very different look and, more importantly, a distinct mission. Like other variants in the lineup, the Lobo is a street-performance pickup, featuring a lowered suspension, striking 22-inch wheels, and several unique visual elements. Not to mention the legendary 5.0-litre V8 under the hood. In short, this is the kind of pickup that's guaranteed to turn heads wherever it goes. It's also worth noting that the PowerBoost powertrain is available on a wider range of trims for 2026.
The 2026 Ford F-150 offers one of the most extensive and diverse lineups in the industry. Needless to say, it would be impossible to cover every version here, so we'll focus on the highlights. Let's start with the base price, which comes in at $53,135. At that price, you get a two-door, rear-wheel-drive pickup—far from the most popular configuration. Opting instead for a four-door model with four-wheel drive, which is much more common, brings the starting price to $65,350 for the entry-level XL trim.
Next up is the STX version, starting at $65,965, only slightly more expensive and offering a noticeably more aggressive look. The XLT follows at $67,470. There's then a significant jump to the Tremor, which starts at $84,325 and delivers enhanced off-road capabilities. The Lariat trim offers a more luxurious experience at $84,590, while the King Ranch brings American-style luxury to the table at $100,785. Above that sits the Platinum, priced at $107,835, before reaching the top of the range with the Raptor, which starts at $112,820.
That said, it's important to point out that the story doesn't end there. The Ford F-150 offers a vast array of à la carte options that can drive the final price up by several tens of thousands of dollars.
The Ford F-150 remains the undisputed king of the full-size pickup truck segment, thanks to its wide variety of trims and powertrain options. It continues to set the benchmark, and there's little sign of that changing, as Ford keeps refining its offering year after year.
Rivals: Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra, Ram 1500, Toyota Tundra
The Ford F-150 is one of the easiest vehicles to recognize, thanks to its legendary styling—and because you literally see one on every street corner. For 2026, Ford has done an excellent job with the addition of new colours and features that further enhance its appearance. I have to say, I'm particularly fond of the styling of the new Lobo version.
Inside, the F-150's cabin is the main reason why I love this truck so much. It's part functional workspace, part comfortable living area, and the level of fit and finish is impressive—especially as you move up the lineup. From a technology standpoint, the American automaker's pickup leaves little to be desired, and its SYNC infotainment system remains one of the most user-friendly on the market.
The 2026 Ford F-150 offers a wide range of mechanical options, starting with the familiar 2.7-litre turbocharged V6, which produces 325 horsepower and 400 lb-ft of torque. Next is the legendary 5.0-litre V8, delivering 400 horsepower and 415 lb-ft of torque. The 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6 produces 400 horsepower and 500 lb-ft of torque in its standard configuration. The Raptor features a similar engine, but tuned more aggressively, with 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque.
The hybrid PowerBoost powertrain follows a similar configuration, pairing the engine with an electric motor for a combined output of 430 horsepower and 570 lb-ft of torque. Sitting at the very top of the lineup is the supercharged 5.2-litre V8, which churns out an impressive 720 horsepower and 640 lb-ft of torque.
Prices climb quickly, and it's even possible to exceed $175,000 with a fully loaded Raptor R. Some versions are also thirstier than others.
It's the most capable and competitive vehicle in the industry. There's truly something for every taste and every budget.
The 2026 Ford F-150 remains the benchmark in its segment.
There's no such thing as a perfect vehicle, but if there's one model capable of meeting the needs of the vast majority of buyers, it's the 2026 Ford F-150.
